Israel (West Bank) boycott in action

Early reports are coming in about individuals making it clear they will not be buying any more goods from the Occupied Territories (West Bank). In this case protesters drag such goods from a Tesco store in South Wales and render them useless, before being carted off by police:

Interesting read. But this passage is IMHO perhaps the most important of all:

"One can reasonably argue that this ancient myth of a Jewish nation exiled until its 20th century return is of little consequence; whether the Jewish people share a common genetic ancestry or are a far-flung collection of people who share the same faith, a common national identity has in fact developed over the centuries. But Zand's central contention stands, and has some significant implications for the current conflict between Israel and the Palestinians."

At the end of the day, all Peoples are self-serving inventions, Jewry is no different if you go back long enough (of course Judaism rejects anything much before its own coming into existence).

In a sense, this new narrative could be the birth narrative of the new "Democratic Republic of Israel and Palestine", but it would probably be as spurious as any other nationalistic narrative, a new "imagined community" as it were...

And it will be hotly contested...
